Jaggu dada likes the bad-guy-good-guy role
With him being a year shy of 60, Jackie Shroff, some may say, is past his prime; but theres no disputing that this bandana-sporting actor can still give many younger heroes a complex with his good looks and his impeccable sense of style. Jackie, who is likely to be in Chennai between April 4 and April 6, is thrilled with the role hell be essaying in producer CV Kumars directorial debut Maayavan.

I am delighted to be a part of this film. There is poetry and prose in every language, and not knowing the language can never be a handicap if you can relate to the story and sentiments expressed in the film. CV Kumar narrated the story so well that I was hooked to the subject and my role in it. With a Konkani film also in the pipeline, I will have done films in 11 languages by the time I am done with that, says Jackie.
Right from his first film Swami Dada, Jackie says hes always revelled in playing the bad-guy-good-guy role. I love that sense of balance it brings. Theres a bad side to everyone and theres also a good side. A role that allows me to portray both those sides within the same person is what I love doing most; it agrees with my sensibilities.
While most women, why even men, find him hot and sexy, Jackie tends to be a tad dismissive of his good looks. Quite early on in my career I had decided I wasnt hero material, so I was happy to let the hunks and the handsome ones play the hero part. You know what I mean, right? The hunks have aquiline noses and strong jawlines. Its nice of you to say that people think I am good-looking, but, come on, I am no conventional good-looker. Those ones are heroes like Dharmendra, and Hrithik Roshan.
And, then, he signs off, adding, But I can carry myself very well, and I am a good human being.
